Viruozzo container looses IP

Here is the deal – vzup2date – moving to new kernel – in this case  2.6.32-042stab108.5 to keep this current and fix a security concern.
On bringing the host back up vzlist is showing the containers as running – however alerting is screaming at you still. Check services – sure – all there. Scratch head. Ponder. Check interfaces…. ah… yes… a complete lack of local interfaces would do that to you.
So what has occurred here is ANCIENT client containers are using bash 4.2 that were originally installed with bash 4 are falling to bits.
  /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/network-functions
…is where the issue will be found. It is given away in a service network restart – where a line is cited – in this case 78. Replacing the
. $CONFIG
… with …
. ./$CONFIG
and then checking that over…
# tail -n+78 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/network-functions \
| head -n 1
. ./$CONFIG

… a restart of the network service – and behold – interfaces. Restart services and you should be good to go. You may now thank me.
